ORDER : Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet CURRENT ASSIGNMENT : Ministry of prayer and presence ADDRESS : Nazareth Living Center, 2 Nazareth Lane, St. Louis, MO 63129 BORN IN : Peoria HOME PARISH : St. Cecilia Parish, Peoria RECEPTION OF HABIT: March 19, 1951 EDUCATION : Bachelor's degree in his- tory from Avila College; master's degree in speech pathology from Northwestern University; doctorate in speech pathology/ audiology from Southern Illinois University MINISTRIES : Sister Marie Damien taught in grade schools, as well as at the college level, and was academic dean at Fontbonne Col- lege in St. Louis for 11 years. She went on to serve her community as assistant province director of the St. Joseph Provincialate from 1988 to 1992 and then general councilor of the congregation from 1994 to 2002. Sister Marie Damien was on the administrative team of CSJ Home Care in St. Louis from 2002 to 2013. COMMENTS : What does she wish everyone knew about her vocation? "What a wonder- ful gift it is to me," Sister Marie Damien said, adding that "being part of Christ's body" has brought her joy. To those who are considering a vocation to consecrated life she advised: "Be most glad and grateful - ever!"
Sister Yvonne Brais, SSCM

Park, Urbana, IL 61801-3835 PROFESSION OF VOWS: Aug. 16, 1951 EDUCATION : Bachelor's degree in edu- cation from DePaul University, Chicago; master's degree in theology from St. Xavier College, Chicago; teacher's certificate MINISTRIES : Sister Yvonne has served as a teacher, school librarian, director of religious education, and pastoral associate in Chicago and Joliet, as well as in Arkansas and Min- nesota. She has also been involved in parish work and served as archivist for her community. In the Diocese of Peoria, Sister Yvonne prepared students for confirmation and First Communion at St. Mary Par- ish, Champaign. COMMENTS : What has brought Sister Yvonne joy is the family spirit of the Servants of the Holy Heart of Mary. She advised those discerning a vocation to consecrated life to find a congregation that has that, as well as a focus on faith and sacrifice.
Sister Mary Lydia Buntemeyer, BVM

ORDER : Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary CURRENT ASSIGNMENT : Retired ADDRESS : 1160 Carmel Drive Suite 127, Dubuque, IA 52003-7911 ENTRANCE TO ORDER: Sept 8, 1951 MINISTRIES : Sister Mary Lydia's chief area of ministry has been teaching. She served in Oregon, Tennessee, Iowa and Illinois, including St. Joseph School in Rock Island from 1963 to 1967, and St. Anne School in East Moline from 1990 to 2000. She stayed on as a volunteer in East Moline for another five years. CELEBRATION PLANS : There will be a pri- vate celebration with her community. COMMENTS : "My heart was called. I feel very privileged to be called to have a voca- tion to be a sister, and to be a BVM," Sister Mary Lydia said.
Sister Cor Marie Cielocha, SSND

ORDER : School Sisters of Notre Dame CURRENT ASSIGNMENT : Retired ADDRESS : SSND Residence, 123 Creve Coeur Ave., Creve Coeur, IL 61610-3204 BORN IN : Chicago PROFESSION OF VOWS: July 31, 1951, at the Mother- house in Milwaukee EDUCATION : Bachelor's degree in history and sociology from Mount Mary College, and a master's degree in education from Cardinal Stritch University, both in Milwaukee. MINISTRIES : Sister Cor Marie taught students at all levels, from toddlers to college students, in Wisconsin and Illinois. In the Diocese of Peoria, she served at St. Patrick in Peoria from 1967 to 1968, and was associate professor and supervi- sor of the child development program at Illinois Central College from 1969 to 1985. She may be best known for founding the Children's Center of Tazewell County, teaching and working as the principal and administrator from 1985 to 2017. CELEBRATION PLANS : Sister Cor Marie renewed her vows and received a blessing at a Mass on April 25 at St. Anthony Church, Bartonville.

ORDER : Sisters of St. Benedict CURRENT ASSIGNMENT : Retired ADDRESS : St. Mary Monas- tery, 2200 88th Ave. West, Rock Island, IL 61201-7649 BORN IN : Peoria HOME PARISH : St. Mary Par- ish, El Paso PROFESSION OF VOWS: 1951 at St. Mary Monastery in Nauvoo EDUCATION : Bachelor's degree in biology from St. Scholastica College, Duluth, Minnesota; master's degree in theology from St. John's Uni- versity, Collegeville, Minnesota; master's degree in psychology from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign; and studies in pastoral ministry at Catholic Theological Union, Chicago MINISTRIES : In her long ministry, Sister Catherine taught at St. John School in Clinton (1951-54), St. Mary School in Wenona (1954-56), the Benedictine Catechetical Center in Ladd (1956-57), Alleman High School in Rock Island (1959- 66), and St. Mary Academy in Nauvoo (1966-68). She has also been involved in campus ministry at St. John's Catholic Newman Center at the University of Illinois (1968-72), and parish ministry at St. Thomas the Apostle Parish in Peoria Heights (1972-77) and St. Mark Parish in Peoria (1977- 80). Sister Catherine served her Benedictine commu- nity as junior sister director (1968-72), prioress of St. Mary Monastery (1980-88), and retreat director at Benet House Retreat Center in Rock Island (2001-08). In addition, she worked as a therapist at Lutheran Social Services in Peoria (1989-92) and ministered in Africa. CELEBRATION PLANS : Sister Catherine celebrated with her community in March. COMMENTS : "While I personally dislike be- ing the center of attention and would have gladly let the date pass by, I knew I could not 'forget' this jubilee. Someone in some office would have marked down the fact that Sister Catherine Maloney and I had been in the com- munity 70 years," Sister Catherine said. "To not celebrate would have been to deny or at least forget God's love and good news offered every day of our years as Benedictine Sisters." She added that the preparation in the days prior to the renewal of their vows and the act of pronouncing those vows of obedience, chastity
