She was a teacher and principal at Catholic schools in Indiana and Illinois, including St. Joseph School in Peru, where she taught first and fifth grades from 1965 to 1969. In addition, Sister Elaine was on her congregation's leadership team for 10 years, administra- tor of the Portiuncula Center for Prayer in Frankfort for 18 years, and general secretary for the Franciscan Sisters of the Sacred Heart for 15 years. Joy has come from "wonderful experi- ences that have enhanced my prayer life and brought me closer to God's people," she said. "Service to the 'dear neighbor' is very important to Sisters of St. Joseph." Sister Marion suggested that if someone is discerning a vocation they should develop their prayer life and find a spiritual director or someone who is a good listener. "Spend time with religious women/men to see if this way of life is calling you," she added.

"My call to be the Holy Preaching within Domini- can Life has been nourished first of all by God and the gifts he has given me, but also accompanied by the blessing of faith-filled people who have journeyed with me. "It is truly a joy to minister with and for God's family," Sister Janet Marie said.

(Georgine Marie) 60 years ORDER : Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet CURRENT ASSIGNMENT : Volunteer ADDRESS : 3828 Loughborough Ave., St. Louis, MO 63116 RECEPTION OF HABIT: March 19, 1961 MINISTRIES : Sister Marion's ministry has been dedicated to education and administra- tion in Alabama, Georgia, Illinois and Missouri. Inthe Diocese of Peoria, she taught at St. Cecilia School in Peoria from 1968 to 1971. She also served her community as administrator of the St. Joseph Provincial House in St. Louis from 2000 to 2016. COMMENTS : "I have been blessed as a Sister of St. Joseph with many opportunities to minister in several parts of the country and have formed relationships," she said. "Relationships are important as you minister to the people of God."

50+1 years ORDER : Sisters of Mary of the Presentation CURRENT ASSIGNMENT : Pastoral Care Director at Sheyenne Care Center, Valley City, North Dakota ADDRESS : c/o Maryvale, 3150 116A Ave. S.E., Valley City, ND 58072 BORN IN : Peoria HOME PARISH : St. Patrick Parish, Washington PROFESSION OF VOWS: 1970 EDUCATION : Bachelor's degree in elementary education and master's de- gree in religious studies MINISTRIES : Sister Debra has served in a variety of ways, including as an elementary school teacher, in campus ministry, parish ministry, community leadership and now pastoral care ministry. In the Diocese of Peoria, she taught first grade at St. Patrick School in Washington and at St. Louis School in Princeton. CELEBRATION PLANS : Sister Debra's celebration was delayed for a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Plans now call for a Mass at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 19, at Maryvale, which is open to the public. COMMENTS : "What has brought me the most joy? To bring God's love to those I serve," she said. "To be able to use the gifts God has given me in serving God's people through the vari- ous ministries I have been called to in the past 50 years. Being amazed at how God works in our lives when we are open and allow Him to lead us." Sister Debra called the last 50 years a journey where God has surprised her and brought new life and energy to those places He led her to serve. "His presence in my life has allowed me to be touched by many people and for that I am very thankful," she said.

Heading Ave., West Peoria, IL 61604 BORN IN : Moline HOME PARISH : Sacred Heart Parish, Moline PROFESSION OF VOWS: Aug. 13, 1971 EDUCATION : Bachelor's degree from Bradley University; master's degree from the University of Notre Dame; certificate in spiritual direction from Creighton University MINISTRIES : Sister Kathleen Ann's long ministry has included education, adult formation and spiritual direction. Major assignments have taken her to St. Philomena School in Peoria (1971-72, 1998-2000 and 2002-06), Sacred Heart School then Seton Catholic School in Moline (1973-91), St. Mary School in Metamora (1991-92), Peru Catholic School in Peru (1992-98) and St. John's Catholic Newman Center in Champaign (2000-02). She was elected president of the Sisters of St. Francis of the Immaculate Conception (also known as the Heading Avenue Franciscans) on June 4, 2017. CELEBRATION PLANS : A private Mass and reception with the Heading Avenue Franciscans, family and friends are planned for Sept. 12. COMMENTS : "My vocation to religious life has been a source of blessing, joy and growth in my life," Sister Kathleen Ann said. "I am most grateful to God for all the wonderful people He has placed in my life: parents, family, my community members both past and present, friends, co-workers, and all those with whom I was privileged to minister to. "I look forward to the opportunities God will provide for me to continue in mission and discipleship in future years," she said.
