Seventh grade students from St. Patrick School in Washington are shown with some of the $4,500 worth of baby food and formula they delivered to Peoria area social service agencies on Jan. 21. This is the 49th year for the project, coordinated by Tazewell County Right to Life to recall the now estimated 62 million babies killed by legal abortion since the U.S. Supreme Court decisions issued on Jan. 22, 1973. The students, pictured here at Catholic Charities' St. Gianna Baby Pantry at the Bessette Center in Peoria, also made deliveries to the Empower Life Center, the Women's Care Center, and Crittenton Crisis Nursery. They began their day with a visit to U.S. Rep. Darin LaHood's office, where they had a video chat with the con- gressman to thank him for his pro-life votes. The baby food was purchased through money collected by the students as well as donations from area churches, the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians, and two councils of the Knights of Columbus.
